Sustainability Initatives

Carbon Footprint of the Sanner Group

Sustainability is an integral part of our strategy. In 2024, we recorded our carbon footprint for the first time in accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Protocol, covering Scope 1, 2, and parts of Scope 3 emissions. This includes emissions from production, energy consumption, and the supply chain. All company sites were taken into account. The data serves as the foundation for our reduction plan in line with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). Going forward, we aim to further improve data collection and expand Scope 3 coverage, while implementing measures to reduce emissions.

Ecovadis

In 2024, the Sanner Group was assessed by EcoVadis and, despite stricter criteria, received a Bronze Medal for the first time.

In October 2025 we even received the Gold Medal, placing us among the top 5% of all companies assessed by EcoVadis. This milestone reinforces our reputation as a trusted partner in pharma-/nutraceutical packaging and the CDMO sector, empowering us to meet the growing expecations of a rapidly evolving and demanding market. The Gold rating not only acknowledges our achievements but also inspires us to go further — continually improving, innovating, and embedding sustainability into everything we do - all across the Sanner Group.

Science Based Targets

In August 2024, we committed to the near-term targets of the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions in Scope 1, 2, and 3 by 2030. We are implementing measures across all areas of our business, investing in sustainable technologies and renewable energy, and actively contributing to climate protection and the goal of limiting global warming to 1.5°C. We are committed to the following:

The Sanner Group commits to reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions in Scope 1 and 2 by 42% by the fiscal year 2030, based on the 2024 baseline. Furthermore, we also commit to reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions in Scope 3 by 42% within the same timeframe.

Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP)

Since 2022, Sanner Group has participated in the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), undergoing evaluation in the areas of environmental impact and water management. Each year, the CDP collects data and information on a voluntary basis on behalf of investors, using standardized questionnaires to assess companies' CO2 emissions, climate risks, and their reduction targets and strategies. Today, the CDP manages the world's largest database of its kind.

For 2024, Sanner received the following rating: overall score of "C". We are currently participating for the evaluation for the upcoming year.

UN Global Compact

Today, Sanner is pleased to announce that we have joined the United Nations Global Compact initiative — a voluntary initiative for the development, implementation and disclosure of responsible business practices.

With this announcement, Sanner is proud to join thousands of other companies globally committed to taking responsible business action to create the world we all want.

The UN Global Compact is a call to companies everywhere to align their operations and strategies with ten universally accepted principles in the areas of human rights, labour, environment and anti-corruption, and to take action in support of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Launched in 2000, the UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability initiative in the world, with more than 20.000 companies based in over 160 countries, and more than 60 Global Compact Networks.

By collaborating with the UN Global Compact, we aim to intensify and reinforce our efforts to create a better future. [Heino Lennartz, CEO Sanner Group]
