September 22, 2026 – Sanner, a global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) specializing in healthcare packaging and medical technology solutions, announced two significant milestones in its North American growth strategy: the rebranding of Gilero to Sanner America and the expansion of the innovation and development facility in Chicago.

Following Sanner’s acquisition of Gilero in 2024 alongside significant investments in manufacturing capacity in the United States, the transition to the Sanner brand unifies the company’s North American operations under a single global brand.
“This represents far more than a name change,” says Stefan Verheyden, Chief Executive Officer of Sanner. “It creates a single, integrated partner for our customers, combining world-class medical device development, engineering, pharmaceutical packaging expertise, and global manufacturing into one seamless organization. By connecting development and production across our global network, we reduce project risk, simplify technology transfer, and help customers bring innovative healthcare products to market faster.”
This reflects Sanner’s commitment to providing customers with seamless access to its global network of engineering expertise, manufacturing capabilities, and innovation resources while preserving the technical excellence and customer relationships that have defined Gilero for more than two decades.

Expanded Chicago facility boosts innovation and collaboration
At the same time, Sanner is expanding its presence in the Midwest with a larger Chicago office. It is strategically positioned to support one of North America’s fastest growing and innovative medtech ecosystems, making it an ideal location to collaborate more closely with customers and industry partners.
The facility is designed to accelerate product development through enhanced collaboration, rapid prototyping, and human-centered design. It features a dedicated human factors laboratory with integrated audiovisual recording for usability testing, in-house 3D printing, assembly and electromechanical prototyping capabilities, and direct access to the adjacent mHUB Innovation Center, providing advanced technologies such as CT scanning, laser cutting, and selective laser sintering (SLS) 3D printing.

Ted Mosler, CTO of the Sanner Group and President Sanner America, said: “Gilero has built an outstanding reputation for innovation, engineering excellence, and customer partnership. Being part of Sanner allows us to build on that legacy while giving our customers access to expanded global capabilities, additional manufacturing expertise, and greater resources to help bring complex healthcare products to market. The expansion of our Chicago facility is another important step in bringing our teams closer to customers in one of the world’s leading medtech regions.”
The brand unification, expansion in Chicago and new production facility in Greensboro, NC underscore Sanner’s long-term commitment to investing in North America’s rapidly evolving healthcare sector.

Sanner was founded in 1894. Headquartered in Germany with best-in-class manufacturing facilities across Germany, France, Hungary, China, and the U.S., Sanner has successively developed from a global market leader for desiccant closures and effervescent tablet packaging into a sought-after provider of customized solutions in the areas of medical devices and diagnostics, pharmaceuticals, and consumer healthcare. Today, Sanner supplies its products to more than 150 countries globally and has more than 850 employees. In November 2021, GHO Capital, Europe’s leading specialist investor in healthcare, acquired a majority stake in Sanner to partner with the fourth generation of the Sanner family to continue to support the growth of the company with a specific focus on transforming Sanner into a global MedTech CDMO.
