Packaging sustainability cannot be optimized by evaluating the container, closure, or desiccant independently. It requires engineering the entire moisture management system. For moisture sensitive healthcare products, sustainability depends on balancing product protection, material efficiency, regulatory requirements, manufacturing, and end of life considerations. Through technical case studies, this session explores how systems level engineering can optimize barrier performance, desiccant capacity, material selection, package design, and recyclability while maintaining product stability and manufacturing performance. Attendees will gain a practical framework for evaluating sustainability tradeoffs and implementing packaging solutions that reduce environmental impact without compromising product quality, patient safety, or operational efficiency.
