About Sanner Group
Sanner was founded in 1894 as a manufacturer of cork stoppers. Originally used in the local wine industry, the company grew to specialize in making cork stoppers for glass pharmaceutical containers. As they were introduced, Sanner quickly recognized the advantages of plastics and adopted them for the manufacture of closures for the healthcare industry.
In the late 1960’s, the company reached a key milestone with its invention of the first desiccant stopper to protect effervescent tablets and other drugs from the effects of moisture. This innovation marked the start of an unparalleled success story for Sanner, and the company become a world leader in the design and supply of desiccant-based packaging solutions.
Sanner has since grown its portfolio to include further built-in and drop-in desiccant solutions, expanding its global presence with manufacturing facilities in Hungary, China, and with the acquisition of Jaco S.A., now Sanner France.
